Hi, I'm Katie Yeandle

Registered Kinesiologist

My goal is to inspire my clients to stay active throughout their lives and reject notions that they should slow down.

You can live life to the fullest, saying YES to activities you thought were pipe dreams.

Just like my clients who have climbed ruins in Peru, hiked mountains in Yellowstone or photographed wildlife in remote locations.

Fitness is the tool that helped them go from years of pain and brain fog, to these once-in-a-lifetime moments. â€‹â€‹

The best part?

It gets to be fun!

Let me help you rediscover the joy of movement, so you can have a strong body and sharp mind!

My Story

My whole life I’ve felt like an underdog.

I was a very quiet kid who was perceived as more of a follower than a leader. I was also very small so I was often underestimated in sports. To this day, the outfielders still move in when I step up to the plate.

I was never fond of having assumptions made about me so I always felt like I had something to prove. I wasn’t willing to accept the fate and identity that others had written for me.

I’ve always had a soft spot for fellow underdogs, which is why I am so passionate about the clientele I work with.

During my last year of university, I volunteered at a fitness program for those with neurological conditions. Stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s, and some conditions so rare I had never heard of them before.

What did all of these folks have in common?

They were underdogs refusing to accept their fate.

They all worked so hard to regain their independence.

To not let the diagnosis define them.

To prove wrong the doctors who told them they can’t.

Everyday I was inspired by the people in that program and I knew that I wanted a career where I could play even just a small role in the journey of the underdog.

Sadly, as I started in my career things didn’t go as planned.

I was too often silenced and made to feel incompetent. I quickly grew tired of feeling dismissed. Just like the people I met while volunteering.

And so, I took inspiration from them and decided it was time to boldly take control of my future.

It was time to quit and start my own business. â€‹

And so Achieving Motion was born.

I was hell bent on proving that I could be a successful business owner who challenges the methods so commonly used with older adults. They weren’t serving people as they should. I wanted to be on the forefront of showing just how capable older adults are.

You may feel like society is telling you to accept your fate. That decline comes with aging. That no one believes in you. That it’s too late to start.

Even though I’m only in my twenties, I understand how you feel.

I know what it’s like to lose your identity or feel written off. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way.

Together, we can challenge the assumptions on aging.

My goal with Achieving Motion was to create a business that offered a safe, encouraging and welcoming environment for my clients. I never want them to feel like I did, discouraged and small. I want my clients to feel believed in and supported. This is why I’m here to help you rediscover the joy of movement.
